Welcome to my ham radio page. Here is where you'll learn about ham radio. Ham radio is kinda like CB,but you have to take a test to obtain a license from the FCC(Federal Communications Commission) and they'll issue a callsign. Which is a way to identify yourself. Mine is KA9WLU. My great uncle KA9WLU who just became a silent key 7-20-10 got me started in ham radio. I have his callsign now. This is pretty much my life. Not only do I look at it from a hobby stand point,but as a good source of emergency communications. So many people rely on cellphones, computers/internet and landline,but when the power goes out or your cellphone doesn't have service or whatever the case maybe ham radio operators are to the rescue . I'm part of RACES(RADIO AMATUER CIVIL EMERGENCY SERVICES) as well as my local Emergency Management Agency(EMA). I'm also a VE with the W4VEC team Jay Wright KK9L's team. Danville,IN.
